Seeking expertise, commitment and compassion

At Perkins School for the Blind, we are always in search of energetic and talented individuals committed to helping children and adults who are blind, deafblind or visually impaired with or without other disabilities. Our work begins with our students on our campus in Watertown, Massachusetts, but spans the globe with outreach efforts in 63 countries, many of which are in the developing world. We provide education and services that help build productive, meaningful lives for the visually impaired of all ages, from infants to the elderly.

A history of excellence

Since 1829, Perkins staff has been made up of people determined to change the world for children who are visually impaired—people who were not satisfied with the limitations that existed but who saw the possibilities of what could be. Our efforts are now international and also aid the ever-growing population of elders facing visual impairment or blindness. Now more than ever we must continue to act with a determination to better the world.

Today, Perkins' staff of 700 showcases a diverse set of skills. We employee educators, occupational and physical therapists, program aides, nurses, fundraisers, engineers, IT staff, administrators, grounds keepers, consultants, assistive technology specialists, and grant writers, just to name a few.
