Volunteer

A woman helps a boy on a swing.

How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world.
-Anne Frank

Each of us has the power to incite change and improve the lives of others. Regardless of your background or area of interest, we are always looking for compassionate and capable individuals to join the Perkins family as volunteers. Whether you have just a few hours to give or are looking for a long-term opportunity, every volunteer's efforts truly enrich the lives of the population we serve.

Over 350 generous people regularly give their time and talents at Perkins, but we are always in need of volunteers to help people who are blind, deafblind or visually impaired with or without other disabilities.

Work with children in the classroom or organize evening activities for residential students, help senior citizens with visual impairments in the community maintain their maximum level of independence, provide administrative and clerical support on the Perkins campus, record "talking books" for the visually impaired in our state-of-the-art studio, repair talking book machines, and much more! Share your gifts with our students. Bring your desire to make the world a better place. Let us help you find the right volunteer opportunity. Read frequently asked questions about volunteering at Perkins. For more information, contact us at 617-972-7224 or volunteers@perkins.org.
